During the administration of Olagunsoye Oyinlola in Osun State, contract was given out to reconstruct Ife City Stadium. Work started on the site with the hope of making the stadium the pride of Ife. As soon as the current administration led by Rauf Aregbesola came into the government almost 8 years ago, the whole project was abandoned. Today, our famous Ife city stadium is a jungle and heaven for crime. Presently, Ile-Ife has 2 league football teams and dozens of grassroots teams but unfortunately their success is limited due to lack of proper infrastructure. 

We urge the osun state government to brink back our stadium without delay and we urge Ife development board to put pressure on the state government on this issue. Sport is an important aspect of social development and our government is doing nothing to improve that especially in the ancient city of ILE-IFE. Sign this petition today to let governor Aregbesola know that we are tired of maltreatment of the city of ILE-IFE. The youths and the sport loving community are tired of their nonchalant attitude. We want our stadium back!!!
