Save the ARK cats and kittens

The Issue

For many years I have been bringing kittens and pregnant moms into my home, either to live out the rest of their short lives peacefully, or if i'm lucky bring them back to health. What I have seen over the years I can not turn my eyes from anymore. Cats and kittens with severe respiratory problems literally struggling to breathe and sometimes choking to death, distemper and calicivirus outbreaks in many of the kittens, extreme eye infections in many of the cats on premises and sometimes ringworm. And the worst part is all of them walk freely around the cages of new born kittens, teens, pregnant cats and other adults. The types of suffering I have seen these cats endure is too much for any living thing to ever have to go through and I would like to try and help them get the funding they need to give them the full care they deserve. I have personally had kittens 4-5 weeks old die in my arms from fluid in their lungs, others from having their shots administrated too early while they're sick and it drains the life from them. In 3 years I have saved and brought health back to 23, and lost 9 . I have had family buy cats from here and when they brought them home their other cats contracted the respiratory problems and were on medication for months.  I have had people adopt my fosters that I was told were ready to go by the vet nearly a year ago, who still have health conditions and have to be bathed weekly from ringworm that never cleared.

I do not believe that the shelter means to have let it get this way, I know that they do care, but with the rate of cats brought to their door step and none being turned away, with the lack of resources and funding and volunteers to properly maintain clean and quarantined spaces it has become a clutter of sick cats that can not be controlled without proper medications and cleaning.

My mission here is to find a way for the cats and kittens of Animal Rescue Krew Lakefield (Feline only) to have sanitary quarantined areas for their sick cats, for their premises to be clean and not hoarded (A fire broke out over the Weekend of August 26th 2016 and took out the upstairs of the shelter and luckily didn't take the rest of the building and all the cats.) The hoarding needs to be cleared so that the space can be sanitized and the diseases can not linger and transmit to the other cats and also for fire safety reasons. For them to have proper veterinary care, and most importantly for needles to not be administered to kittens under the recommended weeks old. If these basic life saving necessities can not be provided properly to the animals of this shelter I do not see the purpose of the shelter continuing to take more cats in until the outbreaks are under control. I hold cats very dear to my heart and have two that are the utter joy of my life and I would do anything for.. literally anything I already have one who needed a blood transfusion and has been the most difficult and best thing to ever happen to me. All I want is for these cats to have the same chance as mine to grow and be healthy and be loved. Please sign my petition and help me to get the care these Cats deserve.
