Traffic Light at Westside Blvd and Goodman Road

Traffic Light at Westside Blvd and Goodman Road
The Issue
We need a traffic light at the intersection of Westside Boulevard and Goodman Road. There has always been a significant traffic problem during Westside K8 school hours, a school that has children from age 3 to 8th grade in attendance. However, with the recent addition of 4 new neighborhoods and a 7-11 within 12 months, the danger to pedestrians, who are mostly children, and vehicle traffic has massively increased.
After countless calls, emails, and letters written to Osceola County asking for help, we are being told our already underserved corner of the county is just not a priority. We have seen countless vehicles run the 4-way stop signs, including during school zone times with crossing guards present. We have NOT seen any support from the Osceola County Sheriff's Department. After many traffic accidents involving only vehicles, and no response from Osceola County, we fear it will take a death of a pedestrian to see change. Before that happens, our hope for this petition is to express the dire need for new safety measures.
We are wanting more signage including more posted speed limit signs, and a traffic light with pedestrian crossing buttons. Possible other safety measures would include speed bumps, and for the yellow no passing lines to extend all the way down Goodman Road to Champions Gate. We are also asking for increased police presence during peak traffic times before and after school hours.
