Osceola County FL is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. With rapid growth, responsible planning and development are critical components to having a pleasurable and enjoyable community to live in. The western section of Osceola County has experienced tremendous growth over the last few years, and many residents feel the impacts of this growth has been neglected by county officials, especially along Old Lake Wilson Road. 

Osceola County, in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), is conducting this PD&E Study to evaluate the two lane to four lane widening of Old Lake Wilson Road from County Road 532 to Sinclair Road, a distance of approximately 2.5 miles. While the impact study is scheduled to be completed March of 2023, construction and development continues on Old Lake Wilson Road, putting a significant strain and undue burden on those who live in the area. 

This petition respectfully asks the Osceola County Commission and Government to place a temporary pause on all development and construction along any section of Old Lake Wilson Road until the impact study is completed, and widening of the road is completed. This petition also respectfully asks that future permitting for development on any section of Old Lake Wilson Road is declined until the impact study is completed, and widening of the road is completed.
