Race Track in El Paso, TX #saferstreets #elpasostrong #keepracingaliveandsafe
The Issue
As many know, El Paso lost a race track that used to sit outside city limits in Clint, Tx 3 years ago. After losing the track more people began using local streets as a new source for racing. During these past 3 years there has been several accidents involving racers as well as innocent bystanders. One in particular was as recent as this month(February) involving a racer being ejected out of his vehicle. Street racing will never end but a vast majority can be reduced if our cities were to open a track. The track itself would not only minimize street racing but it would also bring in revenue to our cities as well as more jobs. Hosting major events would not only benefit the track but our local restaurants and hotels with hundreds of people coming in from AZ, NM and many parts of Texas. Aside from racing, the track could be used as a training facility for EP police dept., EP Sheriffs, EP Fire dept. and for some defensive driving classes. These are just some of the ideas the track can benefit during the small off season. A race track could be set up just like a public park and bring in job for more city employees. Just as the city has parks for baseball, football, soccer and dogs, there is a huge community that would enjoy a race "park". Its time to make the streets safe again and our racing community voice heard. Help us sign this petition and use hashtag #EPracing and share as much as possible to get the word out!!
