Make a follow up movie to 2019's 'Child's Play'
The Issue
"Mark Hamill does the voice of Chucky and I just f*cking loved that movie." Stephen King
"Nastier, more playful, and just as good if not better than the original film."-Rogerebert.com
"'Child's Play' Is The Summer's Happiest Surprise."-Forbes
"This re-imagining of Chucky's origins manages to be both crazier and more level-headed than the original"- New York Post
After the surprising success of Orion's "Child's Play", many fans were left craving more of their new best friend.
The film had a decent box office run and managed to rake in $44.9 million on a $10 million budget making it Orion's second highest grossing film. This was managed while going up against box office juggernaut Disney with it's fourth "Toy Story" installment and the third "Annabelle" film. Not to mention the not so warm welcome the films existence got from the Chucky's diehard fanbase (many of whom changed their mind after watching, including Jennifer Tilly!). Facing these odds, Child's Play still managed to hold it's own both in box office and it's home release. The film also got extremely good reviews scoring a 63% on rotten tomatoes and receiving mostly positive reviews by top critics and the general public.
The writers and producers stated early on that they set out to create a film that had no right to be as good as it is and that's exactly what was achieved with Child's Play. Orion took a classic movie and reinvented for today's time while not just adding a modern twist but creating a fresh take on one of the worlds most beloved horror Icons, Chucky.
With this in mind I ask you, Orion Pictures , is it time to play again?
