Petco, PetSmart, and Pet Supplies Plus all allegedly received hamsters, rabbits, gerbils, chinchillas, and ferrets from the company. The small creatures were stored in plastic bins and stacked in drawers, the animal-welfare group said. “Their screams could be heard across the room,” the document says. PETA officials claim representatives from Petco were seen at a Holmes Farm location as recently as Jan. 5, despite the fact that Petco says it severed ties with the supplier.
