Friends this is an urgent request!

PLEASE TAKE 5-10 mins and send even a brief message against this legislation to each of these Senators, or to the entire group at once!
We have heard from Senators in the Senate that want to stop this Legislation!  THEY NEED OUR SUPPORT!  We heard that Senator Kennemer (the only sponsor on the bill) is pushing this bill and is very aggressively trying to gain more support for it from other senators! The senators that are trying to stop this legislation need to hear from us and need us to show our opposition to this legislation and say firmly PLEASE VOTE NO ON SB 856 and 857!  THAT needs to be the title of our emails!  We need emails from Oregonians saying that they want the Willamette to stay open to all! #willametteforall   PLEASE WRITE A LETTER TODAY!  Email it to the following senators, either as a group or individually!  In your letter to the Senators, please be respectful.  Ask them to vote NO on SB 856 and 857 and share why you personally would like to continue to have access to the Willamette river.  Copy and paste this this list of emails into your email and send your messages to them.  THIS IS CRITICAL!  THERE ARE 4,385 of us that have signed this petition!  IF WE ALL EMAIL THEM AND SHARE THIS PETITION WITH MORE PEOPLE THEY WILL HEAR OUR FRUSTRATION WITH THIS LEGISLATION AND WILL STOP IT! #WILLAMETTEFORALL. You can refer to or add the link to the petition as well!  www.change.org/willametteforall

Subject: Oppose SB 857

Dear Senator (insert name):

I am writing you to oppose SB 857. This legislation is born out of special interest agendas and is not representative of the community at large.

(insert your personal boating story and how these bills will impact your family or business)

Our waterway policies should be grounded in solid research and favor the general public, not select waterfront homeowners and paddlers looking to eliminate motorized boating for their own personal gain. Real studies should be conducted to determine the best ways to keep the river safe and healthy. Furthermore, the Newberg Pool is already one of the most regulated bodies of water in Oregon, and wake surfing is only allowed in two small zones with no adjacent homes.

This bill will make our waterways less safe and negatively impact Oregon families and small businesses. The House already extensively debated this bill and did not move forward. I respectfully urge you to do the same. Oregon needs our senators focused on COVID, economic recovery and getting our kids back in school. Please VOTE NO on this unnecessary legislation. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

(Your name)
