Oregon Legislators: Stop SB 673 from moving forward

Because Kids should not be for sale for sex in Oregon. Those who purchase sex from a minor should receive a felony, and not a misdemeanor.

Letter to
Oregon Legislators
Representative Tina Kotek
Representative Chris Garrett
and 2 others
Representative Mike Mclane
Representative Val Hoyle
I am writing to urge you to vote NO on SB 673. As introduced, SB 673 would have strengthened Oregon’s ability to combat demand for domestic minor sex trafficking and protect victims, however, amendments to this bill have stripped the bill of these crucial changes. The bill now minimizes the seriousness of buying sex with minors by allowing buyers to attend a john school rather than face a felony for shopping for sex with minors.

Instead of moving Oregon forward, Senate Bill 673 moves Oregon backward in the fight against demand, while the rest of the nation is working to ensure that buyers face serious penalties for exploiting children. Please don’t let Oregon become a haven for buyers of our nation’s children.

Will you prevent this dangerous bill from moving forward?
