Demand for Transparency & Accountability from Oregon Health Authority

Demand for Transparency & Accountability from Oregon Health Authority
The Issue
BACKGROUND
On January 25, the Clatsop County Health Department reported 78 cases for the period of 1/10 - 1/23. This number of cases means Clatsop County moves to the "High" risk category and businesses can re-open.
During that same period, the Oregon Health Authority reported 80 COVID cases, just enough cases to put Clatsop County in the "Extreme" risk category, forcing many businesses to stay closed.
Despite the ongoing "investigation" and promises to correct or explain the discrepancy, after over 72 hours, the OHA has provided no explanation to the Clatsop County Health Dept, local Mayors, local legislators, the Chamber of Commerce, and local business owners.
PETITION
On behalf of the business members of our community, we hereby demand that the Oregon Health Authority fully disclose and explain all disparities between state and county data. The lack of transparency and accountability by OHA is causing undo hardship, and forcing small businesses to close and working class community members to lose their jobs.
