Join us to demand healthy logging in Oregon!
Oregonians want clean water, clean air, and healthy rivers. People move here for it.
But is Oregon as green as we think?
Oregon is behind California, Washington and Idaho in protecting communities from unhealthy logging practices. Oregon allows rampant aerial spraying of toxic herbicides, logging right up to and through most streams, and rampant clearcutting even on steep slopes with unstable soils that slide into streams.
It's been more than 20 years since Oregon updated logging rules on private forests.
Oregon needs comprehensive reform that promotes responsible logging on private forestlands. Oregonians need their leaders to follow the science and update rules for: pesticide spray, logging near streams, and logging on steep slopes.
We need Governor Kate Brown to be a leader on this issue, and to work with the legislature and the Board of Forestry to comprehensively reform the Oregon Forest Practices Act.

- Oregon Board of Forestry
I am signing this petition to urge you to make Oregon's forests healthy again.
Oregon allows toxic spraying of herbicides in our drinking watersheds and communities. Oregon allows clearcutting on steep slopes with unstable soils prone to landslides. And Oregon allows logging right through small streams, requiring no standing tree buffers.
All of these practices are sickening our communities, turning our streams brown and our air toxic. Please be a leader in helping push for comprehensive reform of the Oregon Forest Practices Act.
There will always be a place for timber in Oregon's economy. But we need to balance the needs of our communities, our watersheds, and our fish and wildlife with the economy. You can help by joining me in standing up for comprehensive reform of the Oregon Forest Practices Act.
