Earlier today it was released on WFTV, channel 9 news station for Orlando Florida that the Orange County animal shelters and the Seminole county animals shelters do not provide air conditioning for its kennels. Today in the county I am located in, which is slightly north of the other counties, the high was 96, and according to the weather channel felt like 107 degrees. Tomorrow it is supposed to be hotter. For those that don't live in Florida, there are many days where the humidity is well over 75%. Florida has passed a law that it is illigal to leave your dog in a car, and it is legal to take action to get the animal out of the vehicle. Why we allow these places to function without the use of air conditioning is inhumane. Our tax dollars are paying for prisoners who have committed heinous crimes to have air conditioning and heat. These poor animals did not commit a crime and are going through enough trying to find a home. Please do the humane thing and sign the petition so our tax dollars can go to something worthy.
