Although we did not stop the establishment of the Chuckwalla National Monument, we were successful in getting it reduced. Specifically, the portion they called the Joshua Tree National Park Expansion area, aka the Eagle Mountain Mining District. The Eagle Mountains are home to several small-scale gold mining claims, where local clubs have family outings, learn about how gold started California, how the old timers prospected and how we do it today much the same way, but with a little technology advantage. And this area was of particular importance to the local disabled veteran community who have found small-scale gold mining to be very therapeutic to mind, body and soul.

We are partnering with the Blue Ribbon Coalition to continue the fight against the now established Chuckwalla and hoping our newly sworn in President can help us in some way.
