All, We are in the last stages of this fight to oppose the Chuckwalla National Monument.  I was able to have a video teleconference with personnel in the Dept of the Interior and Washington office of the BLM. I explained in detail how the Coalition continues to lie and mislead the public. The lands are already protected under the 2016 Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan where these proposed Monument lands already have Wilderness and National Conservation Lands designations, plus this also means the lands are already counted towards the 30x30 Plan. Yet the proponent Coalition continues to state: The Chuckwalla Monument is needed to help achieve the 30x30 Plan. I already confirmed with Congressman Ruiz's Chief of Staff that the land is already under the 30x30 and this Monument Proposal will not add anything to it . Plus the Chief admitted that by using the Antiquities Act the recreational protections so advertised in the Legislative Bills will not be in the Proclamation to be signed by Biden. Anyway, we still have a chance. Write the White House and tell Biden this Monument and Park Expansion are NOT needed.
