Opposing Proposed Restriction of Watercraft Access at Miracle Mile

Opposing Proposed Restriction of Watercraft Access at Miracle Mile
The Issue
Wyoming Game and Fish Commission Members,
We, the undersigned concerned citizens, anglers, and outdoor enthusiasts, are writing to express our opposition to the proposed regulation that would prevent watercraft access from launching above the Seminoe Bridge.
While we understand the importance of maintaining healthy fish populations and improving fisheries, we are concerned that this regulation is being proposed under the guise of fishery improvement without scientific evidence to support its effectiveness. To date, there has been no publicly available research or data demonstrating that restricting watercraft access above the Seminoe Bridge will lead to a measurable or meaningful enhancement of the fishery.
Furthermore, we are disappointed that this significant regulatory change was proposed without a public hearing or solicitation of community input. As stakeholders who regularly enjoy and rely on this section of the river, we believe our voices and experiences should be considered before such decisions are made.
We respectfully urge the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission to:
Reconsider the proposed regulation until credible scientific evidence supports its necessity and effectiveness.
Hold a public hearing or forum to gather input from local anglers, river users, and community members.
Explore alternative, evidence-based strategies for fishery management that involve stakeholder engagement and transparency.
We value the health of Wyoming’s fisheries and the outdoor traditions that support our communities. We ask that decisions impacting our access and the future of our fisheries be made transparently, based on sound science, and with community input.
Thank you for your attention to this matter,
-Outdoor Enthusiasts
