The Westport Planning and Zoning Commission (“WPZC”) has sited significant deficiencies with the Westport Inn redevelopment application and outlined a partial list of 7 items that need to be cured before the applicants can resubmit their revised application. The deficiencies cited by the WPZC are as follows: 1) The Applicant failed to pay the town’s consulting fees for a Sanitary Sewer Consultant; 2) The Applicant failed to pay the town’s consulting fees for a Fire Safety Consultant 3) A final report from the Conservation Commission is required before the P&Z Commission will consider the application. The Conservation Commission has only had one meeting to date and anticipates needing two additional meetings prior to providing a report to the town. Westport United’s attorney and consultants will make their full presentation at the Conservation hearing on Wednesday February 18. 4) Comments have not been received from the Architectural Review Board and are required. 5) Preliminary comments from the Connecticut Department of Transportation have not been received and are required. 6) A report from the Water Pollution Control Authority is not forthcoming but has been requested by the WPZC 7) Report from the town consultants on traffic and safety are required and have not been received. We encourage you to attend the Conservation Hearing on Wednesday February 18, 7:00 PM, Westport Town Hall auditorium. Please be prepared to speak in opposition to the project based on the adverse impacts to the wetlands and the Sasco Watershed. Thank you for your continued support.
