Oppose Washington House Bill 1038 and Protect Gender Affirming Care

The Issue

Bill HB 1038, being proposed in Washington State, is aimed at banning gender-affirming care for young people, an essential component of comprehensive healthcare for transgender and non-binary individuals. Such a ban has severe implications, compromising the health and well-being of our communities.

The Trevor Project's research shows that 46 percent of transgender and nonbinary youth have considered suicide. This underscores the critical need for gender-affirming care. Denying youth gender-affirming care will only increase these health risks and rates of self-harm.

By opposing Bill HB 1038, we uphold the principle that every individual, regardless of gender identity, has the right to equal access to quality healthcare. It's paramount we voice our strong opposition to this harmful bill. Please sign this petition to help safeguard gender-affirming care for minors in Washington State.
