I am a resident of Georgia, living through an already struggling economy. The recent power price increases are making daily life untenable, exacerbating the struggle to meet basic needs. Living in this state, I always held a sense pride in our ability to balance life's necessities with fair, economic policy. However, these incessant increases in power prices are threatening our dignity and wellbeing.

Georgia Power's price increases are placing an additional burden on a population already grappling with rising living costs. A report by Georgia Budget & Policy Institute reveals that Georgians spend a higher percentage of their income on electricity than residents in most other states (source: GBPI, Energy Burden Report). This situation is becoming untenable.

We ask Georgia's state officials, energy regulators, and Georgia Power to consider the real-life impacts of such power increases on us, the Georgian people. We demand a revision of these increases and appeal for more balanced economic decisions.
