We, the undersigned, petition for justice and fairness for Camren Durfee, a dedicated junior offensive lineman at Centennial High School. Camren’s love for his school and football team led him to create shirts featuring himself to proudly wear on Friday nights during his senior football season for his family and supporters. However, he was blindsided by a two-game suspension imposed by the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) for this seemingly innocent act. It is clear that Camren had no malicious intent and was unaware that such an action was prohibited. Moreover, there is no evidence to suggest that he was adequately informed of this rule. Punishing Camren in this manner is not only unjust but also undermines the spirit of high school sportsmanship and camaraderie. We urge the AIA to reconsider its decision and rectify this situation by reinstating Camren Durfee without further delay. Let us stand together to support Camren and ensure that fairness prevails in high school athletics.
