Oppose the Snowy Valleys Council Companion and NonCompanion Animal Policy SVCENVPO10703

Oppose the Snowy Valleys Council Companion and NonCompanion Animal Policy SVCENVPO10703
The issue
Snowy Valleys Council intends to implement the Companion and Non Companion Animal Policy SVCENVPO10703
Snowy Valleys Council includes the towns of Adelong, Batlow, Tumbarumba and Tumut, localities in the area include Brindabella, Brungle, Cabramurra, Gilmore, Grahamstown, Greg Greg, Gocup, Jingellic, Khancoban, Killimicat, Little River, Maragle, Rosewood, Talbingo, Tooma, Wondalga and Yarrangobilly. Everyone in the community that has animals that includes pets and livestock on their property will be affected by the implementation of this new policy with risks of fines or they may be forced to give up those animals by any means to comply with the policy.
The new policy appears to be drafted from an inner city suburban council policy and is not inline with the rural community values and way of life.
We as a community need to stand up and protect the freedoms and way of life that we love and are privileged to hold by living in a rural area. We need to protect the animals that will be outlawed by this policy. What will happen to them? Euthanasia?
Join this petition to oppose the Companion and Non Companion Animal Policy SVCENVPO10703
Council seeks submissions for the policy by no later than 2nd June 2023.
The data from this petition will be submitted to council and we will propose:
1. That council scraps the draft Companion and Non Companion Animal Policy SVCENVPO10703 and;
2. Maintains the existing Companion Animal Management policy in its current form.
