Philadelphia developers are seeking to rezone 54 acres in the Sleepy Hollow area of South Park Township to R4 (a high-density multi-family residential district) purportedly to build 294 townhouses. No plans have been submitted. If rezoned, 972 housing units will be permitted with a Planned Residential Development.

A bipartisan group of South Park Township residents believes our community has seen enough new development and must now strike a balance between more construction and preserving green space. 

We have concerns regarding higher taxes, illegal spot zoning, increased traffic, increased road maintenance and snow removal, increased policing and emergency response, stormwater drainage, erosion, deforestation, and loss of a unique natural environment used and loved by residents of South Park Township and surrounding communities.

All concerned citizens should attend the April 10, 2023 Board of Supervisors Public Hearing at 6 pm when the Board of Supervisors will hear public comments and is expected to vote to approve or not to approve the developer's rezoning request.
