The Issue

Please sign and share to show Desoto County that our community does not support the planned  Love's Travel Stop and RV park  development at I-269 & Laughter Road!!

Residents are concerned about the proposed C-4 rezoning and planned Love's Travel Stop, RV park and highway-oriented commercial development at the I-269/Laughter Rd interchange.

Concerns include:

Increased truck traffic and congestion
Noise and light pollution
Safety on two-lane roads not designed for heavy truck volume
Future interstate commercial expansion near residential neighborhoods and the Lewisburg school corridor
This development would transform the I-269/Laughter Rd corridor from a primarily residential and rural-growth areas into a regional highway commercial hub centered around heavy truck traffic and interstate activity.

Please note that the Board of Supervisors meeting has been moved to Friday, June 19 at 1:00 pm at 365 Losher St, 3rd Floor

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, attended the hearing, contacted officials & spoke out. On May 28, the Desoto Planning Commission voted 12-0 unanimously to recommend denial of the proposed rezoning request for the Love's Travel Stop & RV Park at Laughter & I-269.

However, this proposal is not over. The Planning Commissions recommendation will go before the Board of Supervisors on Friday, June 19 at 1:00 pm. The Board still has the authority to approve the rezoning request despite the Planning Commissions recommendation.

This is why we must keep momentum going! Every signature helps demonstrate that the community opposition remains strong! If you have already signed, please continue to share with friends, neighbors, family members and anyone who cares about the future of the Lewisburg area.
