The proposed legislation on street animals in Turkey has sparked concern among animal lovers and rights groups. It is feared that this law may neglect or overlook the welfare of thousands of street animals. Turkey is estimated to be a home to millions of street animals, many dogs and cats amongst them live harmoniously alongside the human population (source: World Animal Protection).
