I am a resident of the charming village of Timsbury, where our rolling hills, stunning views and rich history are a source of immense pride and joy to us. Today, they are under threat. Emlett Field, an integral part of our landscape has been targeted for a housing development project. This will not only disrupt the natural beauty and heritage of Timsbury but will also disregard the sentiments of its inhabitants.

Timsbury has stood as a beacon of history and community since the Roman times and Emlett Field has been a significant part of this narrative. Development on this location will lead to the loss of a heritage site which has been part of our community for over a thousand years.

Over time, we have seen housing developments disturb the natural balance of similar settlements across the country. If this proposed housing development is approved, the same devastation could occur in Timsbury. We will experience significant pressure on our over-subscribed vital local services, an increase in pollution and traffic on our village roads, a disruption to local wildlife and furthermore, a decrease in the quality of life for the residents.

The current proposal is for up to a vast 120 houses, but it will be more than this, and there are already allocated sites for housing in Timsbury approved within the Local Plan.

This petition calls on the local authorities to reject the proposal for a housing development at Emlett Field. Support us in our plea to conserve the history, the beauty, and the community spirit of Timsbury. Your signature will not only help preserve the natural beauty of our surroundings, but it will help maintain the personality that defines our village. Sign the petition today.
