We are facing a crucial juncture for the future of our beloved Oude Molen Eco Village in Cape Town, which represents a significant part of the city's green lung.

A proposed large-scale development threatens to disrupt the eco-village life. This massive development not only threatens the unique aesthetic charm of our village but also the sustainable living practices, green ethos, and public accessibility that it currently embraces. https://www.oudemolenecovillage.co.za/

It's critical for us to consider the environmental impact such developments can have and instead seek alternative options that endorse a sustainable living ethos. City government studies show that green spaces lower air and noise pollution and increase biodiversity, contributing to a healthier, more sustainable environment (The City of Cape Town Green Spaces Report, 2018).

Oude Molen Eco Village requests support from local, national and international public, plus private entities, environmental organisations, and urban development experts to oppose this proposal. Further, we invite them to collaborate with us in creating a model that sustains our village's distinctive characteristics and benefits the greater public of Cape Town.

Join us in protecting our green lung by signing this petition. Your signature helps keep Cape Town's green spaces accessible, diverse, and sustainable for future generations.
