As residents of the Palisades and members of the community, we are deeply concerned about the proposed establishment of a cannabis dispensary at 4828 MacArthur Boulevard, in close proximity to three schools. We have children in the neighborhood or are concerned for them, and don’t want them seeing the dispensary and smelling weed every day in their neighborhood. This is not just an issue for us as parents, but for our entire community.

Research has shown that exposure to drug-related activities can influence children's perceptions about drug use, making them more likely to engage in substance abuse later in life (Source: American Journal of Public Health). Furthermore, it is well-documented that marijuana dispensaries can lead to an increase in crime rates (Source: Journal of Primary Prevention).

We believe that our neighborhood should be a safe and healthy environment for our children. The presence of a cannabis dispensary could compromise this safety and well-being. Therefore, we urge you to oppose the establishment of this dispensary on MacArthur Boulevard. Please sign this petition if you share our concerns.
