Oppose the Cipriani solar project on Grandview Drive

Oppose the Cipriani solar project on Grandview Drive
The Issue
The Town of Chenango currently lacks an adequate storm water removal system, which places residents at risk during intense weather conditions. Now, the proposal for the Cipriani Solar Complex at 10 Grandview Drive threatens to further destabilize our community's environment. Clear-cutting the forested hillside to make room for the project will increase water runoff and exacerbate the potential for flooding in the nearby residential areas of Morningside Heights, Chenango Shores, and Hider Park.
We, the residents of the Nimmonsburg community in Binghamton, NY, have always valued the balance between development and nature, understanding that preserving our environment ensures the safety and well-being of all community members. The introduction of the Cipriani Solar Complex, with its proposed access point at 10 Grandview Drive, stands to threaten the local ecosystem that is already under strain.
Solar energy is an important step towards a sustainable future, but it must be pursued in a manner that does not jeopardize our homes and environment. We urge the local planning committee to consider alternative sites for the complex, locations where the impact on storm water runoff and the natural landscape would be minimized.
We are not against solar energy. We are against the inappropriate placement of such facilities that do not consider environmental and residential consequences. We want a sustainable future that includes both renewable energy and the safety of our neighborhoods.
Join us in opposing the Cipriani Solar Complex construction application in its current proposed location. Stand with us to protect the environment, ensure responsible development, and safeguard the communities near Morningside Heights. Your signature can make a significant difference. Please sign this petition to voice your concern and support our cause.
