Ritesh Tandon - Principal in the Recall of Wahab & Fighter Against SB403-Files for US CA17 Election

Campaign Announcement: Ritesh Tandon, US Congressional CA17 (Democrat)
Hello Friends,
I am thrilled to share exciting news with you – I have officially filed the necessary paperwork to become a Democratic candidate for the US Congressional CA17 election in March 2024.
My grandfather, Kanhaiyalal Tandon, was a freedom fighter who fought for the Independence of India. Thanks to my Dada ji (Grandfather), I grew up with a deep appreciation for freedom from a tyrannical government that he fought so hard against.
Too often, politicians take for granted the freedoms we have here in America. They lack historical context and do not realize the gift that our forefathers gave us, the United States Constitution. I often wonder what it would be like if every member of the United States Congress simply sat and had coffee with someone like my Grandfather before passing intrusive legislation that robs us of our God-given freedoms.
In 1999, I moved to the United States. I was blessed to attend Santa Clara University, where I received a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering and MBA. In 2000, I married Zurica Dhar, also a computer engineer, and we have two beautiful children. We are both proud American Citizens and feel blessed to be raising our children in Silicon Valley.
While managing my own company for years, my true passion lies in working in the non-profit community to support the disadvantaged here in America and abroad. I’m proud to have served with the Sankara Eye Foundation to eradicate blindness around the world.
As President of Uttar Pradesh Mandal of America (UPMA), I was proud to help fundraise for the education and daycare programs for underprivileged kids in India. The organization has provided for the fundamental educational needs of over 600 kids.
Today, I write to you, who have been so supportive of me, my family, and my professional endeavors and community service work over the years, to humbly ask for your support once again.
I am proud to announce my candidacy for the United States Congressman!
It is my goal to remind every person in America and in Washington how blessed we are to call ourselves Americans. It would be the honor of a lifetime to give back to the community and the country that has meant so much to my family.
Twice, I was in the FINAL of the US Congressional election and will continue to run until we bring changes to society. During the 2022 election year, we defeated Prop 16 Bill (race-based college admission) endorsed by my opponent. He advocates for a quota system similar to what we had in India and wants college admission and public sector jobs based on the color of skin rather than merit. We defeated the Prop 16 bill with your help.
In 2023, SB403, a bill that specifically targeted Indian Americans, was defeated. I can say that we almost lost that battle, but thanks to Gov Newsom for vetoing the SB403 bill. Our current congressman and Indian, instead of helping, worked with Senator Aisha Wahab (author of SB403 bill) against the Indian community. Today, I am the principal in the recall of Senator Aisha Wahab. We don’t need lawmakers who target Indian Americans or any specific community.
The task ahead is a mountainous climb, but most certainly not insurmountable. Our elected Congressman, the Democratic Socialist Ro Khanna, is the very personification of a leader who wishes to minimize the freedoms we have worked so hard to protect.
He has turned his back on our allies all over the world, including the nation of my birth, India, by siding with India’s enemies like Pakistan on key security issues.
He is too focused on serving as National Co-Chair for the Bernie Sanders Presidential campaign and, sadly, has adopted many of the socialist policies of Sanders.
Endorsed Prop 16 (race-based college admission & public sector jobs) impacting hardworking Asian children, supported SB403 (caste-based bill) to punish Indian Americans.
Doesn’t believe in the American Dream; he just wants us to pay for programs that he can give away to others for free and spends time promoting the most radical socialist agenda, one that resembles that of third-world nations.
My election is for all Americans and every community. We need to save the American Dream, and we've worked so hard for our children to enjoy it. I invite you to join me on this journey. Your contribution, whether through volunteering, spreading the word, or making a financial donation, will play a crucial role in shaping the future we all aspire to see.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my campaign with you personally. Please contact my team at ritesh@tandonforcongress.com to arrange a time to speak.
It would be the honor of a lifetime to serve my friends and fellow residents of the California 17th.
