Status of SB 403 Bill

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your support and signature. We like to provide an update on the status of Bill:
 
How SB 403 is being fast-tracked by Sen. Wahab

(1) Bill Introduced with last-minute amendments adding caste on March 22, 2023 (changes done)

(2) CA Senate Judiciary Committee passed SB 403 11:0 on April 25, 2023 (passed)

(3) CA Senate Appropriations Committee passed it without a Vote using rule 28.8 on May 8, 2023 (passed)
(Chair determines that any state costs of a bill are not significant and therefore sends the bill to Senate for full Vote)

(4) CA Full Senate to vote on SB 403   (We are at this stage)
2nd reading done
3rd reading and Vote happens

(5) SB 403 then moves to Assembly, goes through a similar process as Senate.

(6) Bill goes to Gov Newsom to sign into LAW if Assembly passes it.
