PETITION OF OPPOSITION to REZ 25-005

The Coweta board of commissioners is holding a public meeting on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025 and will be voting on rezoning 101 acres of land between Lower Fayetteville Rd, Covey Trail, and Mary Freeman from Rural Comservation to a new Residential Planned Development project that intends to build over 329 new homes and townhouses into a small and already congested area. This 101 acre area is heavily wooded and home to many wildlife. The displacement of the wildlife, which would have no viable areas nearby to move into would be catastrophic. This many new homes would also cause a huge increase to traffic on Lower Fayetteville, Lora Smith and Mary Freeman roads.

Please sign this petition to voice your opposition to the complete and utter destruction of this critical wildlife conservation area! This project will wipe out thousands of mature trees, devastate a local wildlife habitat, add congestion on local roads, and cause traffic problems.
