The lack of understanding is disturbing.

I was really hoping for more empathy out of this last Council Briefing about our Cedarhurst neighborhood. I was VERY disappointed in the lack of questions from Council members. Rocco couldn’t stop thanking the city planners, Hugo said he envisions this neighborhood looking more like Top Hat, Sam Mendez mocked our petition visuals and laughed about it with city planner Chaney, Sarah Moore was the only one that asked questions on behalf of the impacted people here and I appreciated that. I was really surprised at the sheer lack of curiosity or care from the majority of these council members about how this impacts people here. People that voted for them. I think people here and all over Burien will remember how this goes and how the people here became collateral damage in these “planning” decisions.
