Planning commission briefing 6/10

I will be writing a longer recap on today’s engagement and observations of this planning commission briefing, however wanted to update everyone quickly here. I wished it had gone better. I started in with higher hopes of a community-engagement lead appeal for the people’s concerns of this neighborhood; however, it does appear that’s not quite hitting where it needs to be. Some planning commissioners had good questions for city planner Chaney, until she felt that those questions (I believe on behalf of the residents here) were not to her liking. She then went on a diatribe of, and I can only describe, as the antitheses of any empathy toward the concerns of current residents for home and neighborhood security. As if we dare ask the same that other neighborhoods have NOT had to fight for, which is: our constitutional property rights. More to come.
