Hi everyone,
Providing a quick update on the RapidTO battle.
Your support keeps us going strong!
I have been spreading the word as the days proceed, most recently I had a great chat on Friday with John Oakley on AM640 Radio , we had our concerns featured on CP24, live at 5pm a couple of weeks ago and we’re pushing hard for better transit solutions that don’t hurt communities along the way.
Most recently, local community newspaper, The Annex Gleaner ran a negative opinion piece that totally missed the mark on what our advocacy has been about while calling to boycott the businesses along this corridor. What is most upsetting about this, the author is a Annex Residents Association Director and has also asserted her own political perspectives into a community farmer's market newsletter which has left many residents unsettled.
I contacted the paper directly and have not heard back from them, as have a handful of other residents in both Annex and Seaton Village neighbourhoods.
You can find my email linked here as I made it public today.
We're continuing to fight back against this flawed RapidTO proposal with facts.
Your voices and your continued support is helping more than you know.
We’re pressing for more public input and a call to Pause the RapidTO project to further conduct impact studies and to ensure all stakeholders are included in the plans.
Keep sharing the petition—it’s making a difference!
More soon.
Paul.
