We, the undersigned, verify that we are residents of Archuleta County.  We oppose the Pagosa West proposed development of the approximate 100 acres across from the Pagosa Springs Medical Center for one, or more, of the following reasons.  The plans call for:

·        Businesses along Hwy 160 that present an unattractive gateway to Pagosa (storage facility, car wash, gas station, backside of retail businesses); 

·        Destruction of old growth forest and wildlife corridors; increased noise, traffic and light pollution and a lack of open spaces;

·        Residential high density and multi-family housing adjacent to semi-rural low density subdivision;

·        Building heights and density that obstruct mountain views of existing neighborhoods.
