I am thrilled to be able to tell you that at last night's Cabinet meeting (6th January 2026), Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council confirmed that they are no longer looking at Down Grange as an option for the Golf Centre Pitch and Putt.

The Council is going to explore alternative sites to make sure the pitch and putt finds a new home, BUT IT WON'T BE AT DOWN GRANGE!

A massive, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign: contacted the Council, signed the petition, completed the Council's survey, attended an event, come along to a meeting - everything has contributed to this success. 

It's been a long, bumpy road, but we did it!!!
