The highway from Palm Desert up to Idyllwild and Anza, CA-74, has become a mess, literally covered in potholes and pothole repairs. Drivers must be ultra-vigilant and swerve to avoid chunks of pothole repairs, which can be seen in the middle of the windy, hairpinny highway...DAILY. Many have had to pull off to the side of the road with flat tires from hitting these piles of debris and open potholes.

It's time to do something about it once and for all. Sign this petition to bring attention to our plight. Mountain residents who live 20 minutes from Palm Desert must use this road regularly. They put their lives in danger driving up and down to shop or drop off kids at school. Yet, CalTrans has made excuses for not making permanent repairs. There's too much red tape, according to Caltrans District 8 supervisor, Hunter. No layperson can obtain information regarding the process or how to get a project going quickly. 

The purpose of this petition is to make Congressman Calvert and Riverside County Supervisor Perez aware of the dangerous situation going on on Highway 74--and get immediate action.
