On my way to work 3/18/25 8:18AM I was brutally assaulted by the Metropolitan Transit Police Department of Minneapolis overseen by the Metropolitan Council, notably officer Shawn Renee Tubbs ID #: 222. Along with her partner and 5+ other officers she shoved me, threw me to the ground and mashed my head against the cement repeatedly. I sustained a broken tooth and the palm of my right hand is still badly abrased, with the wound initially being 3cmx3cm as stated at the hospital. At Hennepin County Medical Center I received a CT scan for brain damage + spine damage + internal bleeding, an EKG, and was tested for a concussion. Metro Transit alleged fare evasion, yet found my GoTo card inside of my bag <30min after I was detained with no Miranda rights or charges being given. The non-lethal self defense weapon I was conceal carrying with safety ON (byrna.com model “SD”) was forcibly removed from inside of my waistband near my extremities. I have lost my employment, health insurance and could not take public transportation until 4/17/25 due to a “Metro Transit No Trespass 30d” notice or drive due to my dominant hand being injured, yet now have many unprecedented expenses including an HCMC hospital bill of $3,199.49.

I have received little to no information on my case, the judge has been reassigned from Judge Mary Ruth Vasaly to Judge Emily Froehle with no reason given.

Metropolitan Transit Police Department has yet to release the body cam footage from 3/18 despite my official request of 3/21/25.

Help hold the Metropolitan Council and its subsidiary Metropolitan Transit Police Department accountable! Demand Shawn Renee Tubbs, Paul Buzicky and all other officers involved to be permanently removed from MTPD and ineligible to be on any police department. I and others such as Elante Holston, Marcus Abrams and Kenya Chandler do not deserve such heinous treatment. Help ensure this happens to no one else!

Now is the time to act! Ride your bike, walk, carpool, rideshare, do your part and BOYCOTT METRO TRANSIT! The world was able to see what happened to George Floyd because everyone came together and made his story heard! What if it happened to you, or your GF, sister, daughter, friend? The freedoms of one person being imposed are the freedoms of all people being imposed!
