Oppose Keir Starmer's / Labour's Proposed Disability Benefits Cuts
Oppose Keir Starmer's / Labour's Proposed Disability Benefits Cuts
The Issue
My name is John Doe. I have been on disability benefits for the past 10 years due to a brain injury and therefore unable to work due to being medically laid off and deemed as unfit for work.
This financial support has become a lifeline in taking care of myself, my young family and maintaining a basic standard of living. Sadly, this lifeline is noe under threat.
Keir Starmer and his Labour Party have proposed a tough plan to cut disability benefits such as universal credit (UC), disability living allowance (DLA), employment support allowance (ESA) & personal independent payment (PIP) in order to save £5 billion of revenue.
This plan would not only affect me but millions of other people who, due to various health conditions and disabilities, are unable to work and rely on these payments In order to live their lives and cope day by day with the struggles they already face.
The impact of this proposal is not just financial. The uncertainty and additional strain due to financial worries can worsen one's mental health (and possibly physical health), adding more challenges in an already difficult situation/time for them. This is coming at a time when we are facing a cost of living crisis and soaring prices in rent, mortgages, gas, electricity, and food bills to name a few, which is bad enough already.
We are not statistics to save money. We are individuals, people who matter, who contribute to this society in many different ways. And we are fighting - for recognition, for support, and for our rights to live with dignity without the fear of losing the roof over our heads or unable to feed our families due to money worries.
Please, join me in this fight. To Oppose Keir Starmer's and the Labour Party's proposed cut on disability benefits. Sign this petition to show that we stand in solidarity with all those who rely on these benefits, and that we value every member of our society. We need your voice to make ours heard. Sign today & help make Britain GREAT again.
Thank you for taking the time to read & sign this petition.
