Growing up in our tight-knit community in Indiana, I have always cherished the peacefulness and natural beauty that surrounds us. Unfortunately, this serenity is under imminent threat. Indiana Michigan Power has proposed installing high voltage transmission lines through our Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), and the implications are deeply concerning.

The installation of these massive power lines will not only deface our scenic landscapes but will also pose significant health risks to residents. Various studies indicate potential links between prolonged exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from high voltage lines and health issues, including childhood leukemia and other forms of cancer. This is not a risk we should take, especially in areas where families live, children play, and communities gather.

Therefore, we call upon Indiana Michigan Power and local government authorities to halt the proposed installation of high voltage transmission lines in our ETJ and to urgently consider more sustainable, less intrusive alternatives.
