In the mountains of Kalinga, the lush trees that reside on those mountains are more than just a wood with leaves. They give us clean water, clean and fresh air, and to protect our land from floods and landslides. For generations they have been our lifeline and our shield in our life.

But now that this generation is in danger because of people doing illegal logging, not only are they cutting down trees, but also our safety and the future of every family in Kalinga. As the forest disappear because of illegal logging, rivers dries up, farms weaken and landslides is in our land. If illegal logging continues to continue, Kalinga’s treasure, the forest, wildlife, and traditions will be lost.

Now is a time to act. Every tree saved is a step toward protecting Kalinga’s future. We cannot stay still and wait for disaster to strike. By standing together against illegal logging we can protect our land our people and the generations to come.
