The Issue

Let's be real: Who actually wants a Homestuck series by Vivziepop? While she is certainly talented in her own way, Homestuck and Vivziepop don't mix. In fact, considering what Andrew Hussie has been doing lately and the fact the unofficial wiki has convieniently been shut down just as this released, I'm sure we can all agree it seems like this is another ploy by Hussie to purposefully drag Homestuck through the mud and make it worse.

All of Vivzie's work has raunchy, sexual, and adult themes, and while Homestuck isn't devoid of these themes itself it's recieved the backlash it does BECAUSE of it having 13 year olds subjected to these things. Overall it seems like Vivzie would be purposefully getting herself into hot water unless she aged up the characters involved and that would be...Messy for a fandom that's existed for so long and the plot elements tied to their ages.

Vivzie is also well known for poor depictions of abuse, which a lot of characters in Homestuck go through. While Homestuck itself doesn't have a very good depiction of this abuse, Vivzie's depiction won't be any better and may be even worse.  Her depictions of morally grey characters also follow this same logic.

Another big point is that Homestuck heavily relies on the medium which it's told through to get the story across. The books flopped because of this reason,  and a show will likely be no better. Most of the story is told through text messages, after all. Trolls don't communicate outside of their typing quirks over text or written due to their cultural  significance. How would you depict that in a show?

I think (sane) homestuck fans and homestuck haters can all agree this is a terrible idea. Merging (stereotypical) Vivziepop fans with (stereotypical) Homestuck fans will breed toxicity in this already pretty toxic world and environment and there's really no good side to this.

While I don't know if a petition will prevent it from coming to be, I thought it should be given a shot because we really don't need a new generation of homestuck fans even worse than what we had before (And this is coming from a homestuck fan, btw). I think Vivzie should just focus on her other two projects that are already incredibly delayed (And, lets be honest, not doing so hot story wise) instead of adding this monstrosity to her load.

Thank you and have a nice day :)
