Oppose Google's Restriction on Android App Sideloading

Oppose Google's Restriction on Android App Sideloading
The Issue
As a tech enthusiast who believes deeply in the principle of user autonomy, it is deeply concerning to witness major corporations attempting to limit our ability to use our own devices freely. Google’s plan to enforce verification for sideloading apps on Android devices is an alarming step that threatens this very freedom.
THE MOST IMPORTANTLY PARAGRAPH IS THE MAIN POINT HERE, AND ALSO THE ONLY NON AI GENERATED ONE also the one after that is good
The beauty of Android systems has always been the empowerment of the end-user—allowing us to pick, choose, and experiment with applications from a variety of sources. This ethos of openness and innovation is why many of us choose Android over other platforms that are more restrictive. By forcing verification for sideloading apps, Google is encroaching on this open environment, potentially stifling creativity and innovation.
Furthermore, sideloading plays an essential role in the technology ecosystem. It allows independent developers to distribute their apps without the barriers posed by major app stores. This accessibility encourages diversity in app development and offers users unique tools and experiences unavailable through conventional platforms. By mandating verification, Google risks creating a climate of homogeneity, where only the most connected or profitable players can afford to participate.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, it creates a way for google to censor our content even more by regulating which apps we can install, even more than before. We will no longer be able to create our own apps and install them on our own phones, or use other people's apps if google doesn't approve.
Google already has too much power over our devices, and while so far they have mostly let us use our own devices as we please, this is the first step towards taking that away and forcing us to use only the apps they choose, even though its our own device. They claim that they do it for security reasons, but realistically, the people who sideload are the type of people who know the risks involved and know how to not do anything that will put themselves at risk, or are willing to accept that risk. They already exert their control over normal people who only download from the google playstore because they don't even know how to sideload, but now they are coming after the other ones too who want to use their own devices as their own, and not just as something that they rent from google for a fee, seeing as that is not the case when you buy a phone
Apple has been doing this for years, but recently it has been proven that even they can be forced to change, seeing as they have been forced to let users sideload apps by eu regulations.
Another goal of this petitition is to start a worldwide movement to regulate big tech and keep them from taking our money and then not even giving us our own devices.
Our devices should remain our personal territory, where choice and customization are paramount. By opposing Google’s new policy, we stand for our right to explore, innovate, and install applications according to our personal preferences, free from unnecessary restrictions.
Sign this petition to let Google know that user freedom and device autonomy must remain at the heart of the Android experience. Your voice can make a difference in ensuring that technology remains a tool for empowerment, not constraint.
