The City of Owens Cross Roads is planning on voting on rezoning 195 Hamer Road for a "Special Project" a.k.a  An EV battery recycling plant. They want to build on land they have purchased. These batteries are dangerous and the fire dept has zero ways to extinguish them if they catch on fire. The scenario where the plant catches on fire from one battery then another etc was discussed. It would burn from 24 hours to days/weeks requiring a 3 mile evacuation around it (that is most likely you, that is OXR elem school as well as the post office and the town hall on 431 which is also the police station and Circle K) until it’s deemed safe again.
