Dear friends,

I was so encouraged by the turnout last night. Never did I think over 100 people would come to protest something that wasn’t even on the agenda. Thank you to everyone who came, and everyone who spoke. 

Now for a few housekeeping matters.

1. I would like to move this discussion off of only petition updates. Please find my Facebook group, Concerned Citizens of Centennial School District, and ask to join. Don’t worry too much about the membership questions - I’m attempting to use them to weed out “lurkers,” but we will see 🤷🏼‍♀️
2. Mark your calendars for Thursday, May 22nd and Tuesday, May 27th. We will be organizing around both the “Meet & Greet” and the next board meeting. Details in the Facebook group.
3. I was guilty of this last night too, but after some serious soul searching today, I have decided I am not going to “boo” anyone at future protests or board meetings. It’s so easy to do when you’re angry, and I think we have a right to be angry about this. But we need to show class, be polite, and prove to everyone that we are opposing Lucabaugh for the kids’ sake. Think of Michelle Obama’s quote: “When they go low, we go high.” Don’t give the pro-Lucabaugh anything they can use against us to discredit us. I encourage you to join me in keeping the “boos” inside your head. Feel free to scream them into the void when the protest / board meeting / etc is done though 🤣
4. I am always an email or phone call away. I am a preschool teacher with a 30 min lunch break and two young kids at home, but I will return your message asap.
