Hello, community!
This update comes from the Concerned Citizens of Centennial SD, and not just from Nancy personally. If you haven't yet, please join our Facebook group aptly titled "Concerned Citizens of Centennial School District." The best updates and conversation will take place there.
We hope you will join us this Thursday, May 22nd at 5:30 p.m. at Log College Middle School, for a peaceful protest against Dr. Lucabaugh’s nomination. We will be meeting near the front entrance of the school. If you would like to participate in the protest as a member of the Concerned Citizens of Centennial School District, here’s what we’re planning:
1. Wear Red or Black in support of our district.
2. Bring signs with simple messages. Big lettering and a few words per sign, instead of a long quote. Some examples:
“No Chaos in CSD”
“School Board Should Be Boring”
“We Support All Students”
“Hands Off Our Teachers”
“Let Teachers Teach”
And if you have friends to hold signs with, we could be super crafty and have messages over more than one sign :)
2 signs:
“Tax Dollars for Education / Not Lawsuits”
3 or 5 signs (if the + and = are their own sign):
“ACLU + / Severance Payout = / $1.5 million+ for CBSD
And one final note. Now that we’re getting properly organized, I have one conduct request for anyone wanting to be publicly connected with Concerned Citizens of Centennial School District. Please be respectful of others, regardless of their point of view. We have to remain focused on our message, not tearing down others (including board members). And please do not engage with others who disagree with you. If they engage with you, say something simple like “We all have a right to our own point of view,” and walk away. Or just ignore them.
Thank you for supporting the Concerned Citizens of Centennial School District with me. May the force be with us 💪🏻💪🏽💪🏿
