The City of New Bern, North Carolina is degrading the purpose of the Stop Sign. They are for showing who has the right of way. Using them as traffic calming devices, as New Bern is doing is making the intersections where they are important for their intended purpose, dangerous. What they are doing is expressly forbidden in the MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices). Use your voice and join the fight and demand New Bern Government follow the MUTCD and remove the multi-way-stops. Beginning with the worst offender, the ones at George and Queen Streets.
