This campaign had a big win last night. Not only voted the Desert View Village Planning Committee against this proposal, we also had Fox10 news cover it.
It was great to see that common sense prevailed in this committee and they confirmed that this commercial center has no business being next to a High school and Elementary school. All the identified issues coming from this was deemed materially detrimental to adjacent homes and community.
The desert ridge master plan is a great and detailed plan and just needs to be executed the way it was intended. #sticktotheplan
For people not familiar with the process, this proposal will be updated with the recommendation to deny it and will go in front of the City Planning Commission for a final review on November 2nd at 6pm in the City Council chambers downtown.
We will all have to keep doing what we're doing and get more people to sign this petition and provide your comments opposing the rezoning request.
