Oppose Changes to By-law No. 60 Impacting CMRITO Member Fees

Oppose Changes to By-law No. 60 Impacting CMRITO Member Fees
The Issue
03/25/2025 **UPDATE**
The proposed increases—raising the registration fee from $470 to $545 in 2025, then to $615 in 2026, and finally to $643 in 2027—represent a cumulative increase of over 36% within three years.
//
The proposed changes to By-Law No. 60 pose a detrimental impact on the members of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). The impending changes seek to introduce an unjust annual registration fee increase (from from $470 to $643, an almost 37% increase) which is burdensome for many members. It is critical to note that CMRITO members play a pivotal role in Ontario’s healthcare system; they deserve to be supported, not excessively charged.
According to data from the Canadian Institute for Health Information, medical radiation technologists perform approximately 20 million imaging exams each year (CIHI, 2018) demonstrating their indispensable role in our healthcare. Thus, these professionals should not be overburdened with expenses that may discourage potential entrants into this crucial field.
This petition aims to clearly demonstrate to CMRITO just how many members oppose the proposed changes to By-law No. 60 in an open and uncensored forum. It’s crucial that our collective voices are heard without any restrictions, allowing us to express our concerns about the significant fee increase. By participating in this petition, we stand together to ensure that our feedback is recognized and taken seriously, reflecting the true sentiment of the membership. Let’s unite to advocate for a fair and transparent decision-making process.
We call upon the CMRITO council to reconsider these changes, to engage in open dialogue with members, and to find a more equitable solution. Let's stand against the unjust modification in By-law No. 60. Please sign this petition and let your voice be heard.
