A cell tower has been approved by the School Board to be installed in Oak Creek School in Cornville, AZ.  This approval by the Board took place without parent input or approval and poses great risk to the health and wellbeing of our children.  Please read!

Children are most vulnerable to cell phone radiation as they absorb it deeper into their brains and bodies. A child’s developing brain and organ systems are more sensitive to environmental stressors. Even if the radiation absorption were the same as in adults, the effects in children can be far more serious. 

So what do the over 1800 new studies on RF exposure show, especially on the effects to children? Overall, more than 1800 or so new studies are contained within the bioinitiative report which you can read here: https://bioinitiative.org/table-of-contents/ A summary of these studies show abnormal gene transcription (Section 5); genotoxicity and single-and double-strand DNA damage (Section 6); stress proteins because of the fractal RF-antenna like nature of DNA (Section 7); chromatin condensation and loss of DNA repair capacity in human stem cells (Sections 6 and 15); reduction in free-radical scavengers -particularly melatonin (Sections 5, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17); neurotoxicity in humans and animals (Section 9); carcinogenicity in humans (Sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17); serious impacts on human and animal sperm morphology and function (Section 18); effects on offspring behavior (Section 18, 19 and 20); and effects on brain and cranial bone development in the offspring of animals that are exposed to cell phone radiation during pregnancy (Sections 5 and 18). This is only a snapshot of the evidence presented in the BioInitiative 2012 updated report.

To give you an overview of scientific evidence published since December 4, 2019. Of 39 new genetic effect studies, 79 % (31 studies) showed effects. Of 33 new neurological effect studies, 85 % (28 studies) showed effects. Of 30 new oxidative effect studies, 93% (28 studies) showed effects.

 
The Presidential Cancer Panel (2010) found that children “are at special risk due to their smaller body mass and rapid physical development, both of which magnify their vulnerability to known carcinogens, including radiation.”

According to an article in Spaceprotection.com, we are ‘exposed to 100 million times more electromagnetic radiation than our grandparents were, and part of the reason is radiation from cell phone towers and microwave antennas.’  Cell towers give off high frequency microwaves, and according to spaceprotection.com, those waves can travel as far as 45 miles.  “The closer you are, the greater the danger,”

So, the closer you are to a tower, there’s more risk to your health.  Remember this cell phone tower is being placed right next to Oak Creek School, where our most vulnerable population spends more than half their day, learning, playing and eating lunch.  So what does all this radiation exposure mean for our children? It means it is possible for these microwaves to cause major health problems.  Many experts in this field of study believe the rise in autism, brain tumors and leukemia in children is caused by the exposure to radiation at home and at school.  Here’s why: children are growing and changing at a rapid rate.  Their brains and skulls are still developing, and this means they are very vulnerable to anything that can affect them at a cellular level. Radiation can do that.

“Radio frequencies emitted from mobile phone towers will have deleterious medical effects to people within the near vicinity according to a large body of scientific literature.  Babies and children will be particular sensitive to the mutagenic and carcinogenic effects of the radio frequency radiation.  It is therefore criminal to place of these aerials on or near a school,” Dr. Helen Caldicott, Pediatrician and co-founder of Physicians For Social Responsibility.

Please sign our petition to fight back against this dangerous tower being placed right next to our children in Oak Creek School and request it be moved away from the children who are most susceptible to its effects.
