The proposed Differential Rating on Vacant Land for the City of Campbelltown in South Australia is ill conceived and unfair.

It places an unfair burden on a small group of property owners to generate additional revenue without outlining how this revenue benefits the Campelltown Council rate payers.

If we allow council to approve this proposal, given the short and inadequate public consultation process, it will embolden this council and other councils in South Australia to continue with authoritarian and invasive measures to generate additional revenue at the expense of the community they serve.

The time is now to act and send a message to Council that this proposal is not accepted by the people of Campbelltown. Whether it is the minority directly affected or residents that believe in fairness and good local government policies, the Campelltown community says NO.
